Hello and welcome to Penguin Chase.
in this game you take control of a penguin as he races down a large slope while dodging obstacles, the rocks will slow you down while hitting the trees will end the race all together. You can also knock into the the other penguins on the track to help you secure your victory.
This game was made by 4 people at college (2 of us does game art and 2 of us does games design). this game was made in the span of two weeks from concept, to design, to art along with all of the programing and audio
this game was also made for the 2025 learning ladders game jam.

This game came to be when I was tasked with coming up an game idea for a 2 week games jam project. I was very heavily inspired by various things when coming up with this game idea for example I really enjoyed the Club Penguin sledding mini game along with the fast paced gameplay of Mario Kart and the funny gameplay of Crazy Taxi so I combined the 3 and that's how the idea of penguin chase came to be.
Most of the assets were made by the team however some were used from the unity asset store and those will be credited down below. all music was made by the game designer on Bandlab.
The game was created using Unity and we are very proud of the final project however feedback is always welcome to help us improve our skills

I would like to thank each of the team for going along with my silly idea and helping the game become what it is today I could not have made it alone and I am extremely grateful for everything that they have done and for going along with some of my requests no matter how odd they were sometimes ;)

Great game! amazing quality for a game made within 7 days! only issue i have is that i think the penguins go slightly too fast
I really fun game! Love the high speed action and movement! Perhaps try a more unique artstyle next time
I really love this game it is super addicting to play over n over again. I lowkey raged a little because i suck at it though. I think the start is a lil funky n u could go a lil slower but maybe thats because I suck:')
Positives:
Addictive gameplay. Adjustable difficulty. Choice between PoV. Actual goal for the game. Optional endless mode.
Negatives:
Addictive gameplay. I would prefer to hold W to go faster than Shift. No co-op/PvP (not that I'm expecting this for a game jam). No choice to change player colour.

very fun game, love the ability to kill the other penguin, just wish that the objects didn't spawn in the gaps of the fence.
Amazing game. Controls are very obvious, gameplay is smooth and optimized, extremely fun to play. I love how there is a slider to change the difficulty and that there is AI penguins that you have to try beat. Furthermore, you can send them flying which is very cool. The only bad thing about this game is that it trees and rocks can occasionally spawn in-between the gap in the fence which makes it difficult to dodge and can lead someone to fail.
10/10 game. I love the concept of this game and I like how the levels are random. The movement feels really smooth and is quite easy to control. For the future, I feel like there could be more obstacles.
Games really fun the only issue i ran into was flying up the side wall.(I only had this help once so not really to bad of an issue)

This game was really fun and annoying bc of the amout of trees and bushes but i wish they would make it easier to over take the other racers
8/10 It's a good game and I like the simple controls. I do wish that there were some ways that could help you get ahead of everyone.
This game is really fun! The controls are simple, the physics is funny and its very reminiscent of games that some of us grew up playing during the 2010's. I think the only real thing that could be improved on is getting some more decorations in the levels because after a while it repeats and it gets a bit too much
After playing through this, I must admit I really like this game and how it plays. The controls are really simplistic and help make the gameplay relatively solid. I do feel however that the level/terrain generation is a bit lacking at the moment, as there is not many different variants of obstacles for players to get pass, mostly just being trees and fences, which is one of my biggest suggestions at the moment.
